The Valley Wedding Pages, LLC is a company that consists of an Annual Planning Guide, a Social Event quarterly magazine, and an online website, based in the city of McAllen, Texas, under the direction and ownership of Leticia Guerra-Cantu. They also house a Custom Couture studio by the name of Poise'N'Ivy Designs by Leticia Guerra and event planning services.
Putting together a site with such large notations behind it created a massive project list that called for timeline developments and milestones to be collaborated and communicated amongst our team and the Valley Wedding Pages Team. They had contacted us in the hopes to get a redesign on a site of large scale in time for their 10 year anniversary on 12/12/2012. It was to be launched in conjunction with their 2012 Winter Magazine. The real kick was we were contacted for the project... 2 weeks in advance!
The website is filled with information and showcasing various destinations and wedding vendors in the Rio Grande Valley. We built and customized their cataloging index with Joomla! components for that added ease of updating and organizational efficiency. They run heavily on giveaways so we were tasked with creating forms that could be easily managed and received by the many staff members of the magazine. Built to be responsive, mobile friendly and compatible across all browsers the site displays seamlesly on any device, large or small.
Not only had we developed the website we are also charged with the hosting and updates of information throughout. This project keeps us in constant contact with the VWP Staff as well as monitoring all aspects of the online existence of the magazine. This includes Social Marketing and Management which our resident Social Media Wizz Rachael Moore handles with awesome and engaging ability. We also provide a cloud hosted email solution, weekly security audits, monthly analytics reports and a CDN solution for enhanced site speed and security.
Total development hours for this project (in it's first iteration) sat at 74 hours over the course of one week, the next week consisted of transcribing content from their magazines (Past and Present Issues) to the site itself. The site was successfully launched on 12/12/2012 at 12:12 PM! Since we provide a Webmaster Services the project is an ongoing solution as it requires constant updates and adjustments and has since seen a massive aesthetic overhaul which took an additional 276 hours over the course of 4 weeks (what you are viewing now).
